2nd Opp in Probation, Parole & Pretrial
The 2nd Opportunity Program consists of five video based courses focused on employment readiness, financial literacy, life skills, career paths and barriers to re-entry. Upon completion of each course, students receive a certificate of achievement. Learn more information about our one-of-a kind program here.

Depending on your preferred delivery method, we have the option to incorporate supplemental programs: groups of courses to target a range of issues from high school equivalency preparation and substance abuse, to parenting and mental health. We can also assist in implementing a high school equivalency testing program by liaising with your local educational institutes.
Why choose 2nd Opp?
The 2nd Opportunity Program has been created to help those who have experienced incarceration, substance use disorders, trauma, and other negative life-changing events become self-sufficient, productive members of society—and stay that way. Our approach provides meaningful tools developed based on lived experience, anticipating the challenges, fears, anxieties, and barriers with proven methods of navigating them. The result is the creation of a realistic plan.
A Case Management Tool
Our program assists officers by providing forms to help students meet requirements, such as budgets, a plan to get a job, improved communication skills, etc. Additionally, officers can assign supplemental courses to target specific situations, such as parenting or anger management. The officer is provided administrative access to the system to track the progress of the participants with the capability of printing progress reports.
Delivery Methods
The 2nd Opportunity Program is available in both English and Spanish and can be customized to address an institution's specific needs. Our options of self-paced or group classes (or both!) allow us to meet the needs of both institutions and individuals in a secure and productive fashion.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can the 2nd Opportunity Program help your population?
The 2nd Opportunity Program was created to assist those ready to move on with their lives. We help participants to navigate the challenges of the day-to-day world, get past the setbacks caused by substance use and other criminal behaviors, successful methods for securing meaningful employment, knowledgeably participate in the financial world, and prepare a personal, written plan for their future.
How can the 2nd Opportunity Program help Pre Trial, Probation, & Parole Officers?
It is both a teaching and case management tool. You don’t have the time to sit with your caseload to show each one how to create a budget or help them develop an elevator pitch and practice how they will answer interview questions. You don’t have time or resources to assist someone to enroll in a welding program. Let us do that.

What are Optional Supplemental Courses (Smartphone, Tablet, and Computer versions only)?
We offer dozens of courses that are also available to be assigned or self-selected to target certain issues and behaviors (anger management, parenting) and provide high school equivalency preparation courses.
